Position OverviewNew Brunswick is undergoing a significant transformation, transitioning from various standalone hospital information systems to a unified, standardized, and integrated Clinical Information Solution (CIS). This transformation prioritizes the standardization of clinical practices province-wide, a crucial step toward achieving a unified provincial CIS. The focus is on identifying leading practices in patient care delivery and responsible health data management.
Implementation of the CIS will modernize how care is delivered, enabling greater consistency, efficiency, and collaboration across the health system. Business Intelligence (BI) will serve as a foundational layer to ensure consistent, data-driven decision-making across clinical, operational, and administrative domains.
The Department of Health (DoH) is seeking the services of a
Business Analyst – Business Intelligence
to assist with BI initiatives related to the standardization and implementation of the CIS.
The Business Analyst will serve as a liaison between the Symbio Program and clinical, technical, operational, and business stakeholders across the health system. This role involves engaging with stakeholders and administrators from:
Horizon Health Network
Service New Brunswick (SNB)
Department of Health (DoH)
The Business Analyst will be responsible for co-facilitating sessions to understand stakeholder needs and translating this information into clear requirements and data definitions.
Key ResponsibilitiesStakeholder Engagement
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate stakeholder engagements to encourage and maintain participation from partners
Guide collaboration and decision-making across multi-regional and provincial partners
Workflow & Documentation
Document current and future state workflows, data sources, and reporting sources across stakeholder groups
Co-facilitate work for metrics definition and documentation
Requirements & Analysis
Elicit, refine and validate requirements for data tools and visualizations
Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories in collaboration with stakeholder groups
Quality Assurance
Lead quality assurance and testing work including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and unit testing

Mandatory RequirementsEducation
University degree in Business Administration, Health Informatics, Information Technology, Health Sciences, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience in healthcare transformation, information management, or digital health.
Experience – 10+ Years
Demonstrated Canadian progressive experience in hospital and/or digital health environment supporting large-scale clinical information system implementations, digital health transformation programs, or provincial and regional health system modernization initiatives.
Experience – 8+ Years
