About the Role
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Information Security Compliance Specialist to join their team in Polokwane. This role is dedicated to ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual security obligations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs, conducting assessments, and managing relationships with regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of data privacy laws and security standards, with a proven ability to translate complex requirements into actionable compliance strategies, ensuring the organization maintains the highest levels of integrity and trustworthiness.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations such as POPIA and industry standards.
- Conduct regular compliance assessments and gap analyses against relevant frameworks and regulations.
- Monitor changes in the regulatory landscape and update compliance programs accordingly.
- Manage the collection and preparation of documentation for regulatory audits and external reviews.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on security compliance requirements and best practices.
- Investigate and report on compliance deviations, recommending corrective actions.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in information security compliance, risk management, or privacy roles.
- Strong knowledge of data protection laws (e.g., POPIA, GDPR) and information security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Experience with compliance management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple compliance initiatives simultaneously.
