Position: Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager to lead their vital monitoring and support team in Pretoria. This role is responsible for ensuring the continuous availability and performance of the company's network and telecommunications services. You will manage a team of NOC engineers, oversee incident management processes, and implement strategies to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact customers.

This is a key leadership position within our telecoms operations, driving excellence in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of NOC engineers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on uptime and rapid response.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the NOC, ensuring effective monitoring, alerting, and incident management for all network and telecom systems.
  • Develop, implement, and refine NOC policies, procedures, and best practices for incident response, problem management, and change control.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure timely resolution of escalated issues.
  • Analyze NOC performance metrics and identify trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure robust documentation of network configurations, operational procedures, and incident reports related to the Pretoria infrastructure.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Network Operations Center environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds, Nagios), and ticketing systems.
  • Proven experience in incident management, problem-solving, and leading technical teams through critical situations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure and services is a significant advantage.
