Remote Chief Information Security Officer; CISO

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead their entire cybersecurity program. This is a pivotal, fully remote executive leadership position responsible for defining and executing the company's security strategy, protecting its information assets, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will build and lead a world-class security team, manage the security budget, and serve as the primary point of contact for all cybersecurity-related matters to the board and executive leadership.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, deep expertise in cybersecurity, and a proven ability to manage risk in a dynamic business environment.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive, long-term information security strategy aligned with business goals.
• Oversee all aspects of the cybersecurity program, including risk management, threat intelligence, incident response, and security architecture.
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global information security team.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with executive leadership, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual security requirements.
• Manage the information security budget, vendor relationships, and technology investments.
• Foster a strong security-aware culture throughout the organization.

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Security, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., CISO, VP of Security).
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful enterprise-wide security strategies.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), and emerging threats.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, and leadership capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with experience presenting to boards and C-suite executives.
