About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Remote Senior Data Scientist to lead their advanced financial analytics initiatives. This is a fully remote position where you will leverage your expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and big data technologies to uncover complex patterns, build predictive models, and drive strategic business decisions within the financial sector. You will lead data science projects from conception to deployment, mentor junior data scientists, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning algorithms and statistical models for financial forecasting, risk assessment, and fraud detection.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to extract actionable insights and identify trends relevant to financial markets and customer behavior.
  • Lead end-to-end data science projects, including data acquisition, cleaning, feature engineering, model training, validation, and deployment.
  • Mentor and guide a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Communicate complex findings and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders through visualizations and presentations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to build and maintain scalable data pipelines and production-ready models.

Requirements
  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in data science, with a strong focus on financial analytics and machine learning.
  • Expert proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data science libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, PyTorch).
  • Strong experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and database querying (e.g., SQL).
  • Demonstrated experience in building and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business problems into data science solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote role.
