Our British Columbia client is seeking an experienced SAP Success Factors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) Implementation Lead to join their team on a full time permanent basis. The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of experience working with SAP Success Factors and be SAP Certified in SAP HCM Payroll for SAP S/4
HANA, with strong functional knowledge along with proven experience in SAP implementation, transformation, or functional support roles with deep knowledge of payroll processes, data structures, and compliance requirements. Additionally, they must have proven experience with system testing, UAT coordination, and data validation. This will be a fully remote work setting.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP ECP Implementation & Configuration.
- Lead the SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) workstream through implementation and deployment.
- Provide hands-on expertise across the full ECP implementation lifecycle.
- Configure and maintain payroll-related functionality, including wage codes, earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and payroll processes.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into ECP solutions.
- Support system mapping, configuration, integrations, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
- Troubleshoot configuration and payroll-processing issues and identify appropriate solutions.
- Payroll & Year-End Processing.
Demonstrate strong hands-on knowledge of Canadian payroll processes within SAP ECP.
- Create, configure, and maintain wage codes/pay codes.
- Support Canadian year-end payroll processes, including T4s.
- Validate payroll calculations, earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and employee data.
- Investigate payroll discrepancies and determine root causes.
- Support payroll reconciliation and issue resolution.
- Testing & Quality Assurance.
Lead and participate in end-to-end testing, integration testing, parallel payroll testing, and UAT.
- Develop and execute detailed test scenarios and scripts.
- Validate system results against business and payroll requirements.
- Identify defects, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolution.
- Support testing associated with system changes, enhancements, upgrades, and releases.
- Benefits & Employee Central.
Support SAP Success Factors Employee Central (EC) and its integration with ECP.
- Provide expertise related to benefits implementation and payroll integration.
- Understand employee master data and how it flows between Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll.
- Support data mapping, validation, and integration troubleshooting.
- Stakeholder & Business Engagement.
Act as the primary SAP Payroll/ECP SME for business and project stakeholders.
- Explain complex SAP payroll concepts to non-technical audiences in clear, practical language.
- Facilitate discussions with HR, Payroll, IT, vendors, and implementation partners.
- Lead meetings and confidently present recommendations and solutions.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Develop documentation, process materials, test plans, and training materials as required.
- Valid SAP ECP certification – mandatory.
- Hands-on ECP experience, including end-to-end implementations – mandatory.
- Canadian payroll expertise (wage codes, T4s, year-end) – mandatory.
- ECP testing, UAT, and parallel payroll experience – mandatory.
- Strong English communication and stakeholder-facing skills – mandatory.
- Employee Central experience – required.
- Benefits implementation experience – strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Systems, or related discipline.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
