This is a remote position.
The Junior Cloud Security Engineer Internship Program at Encrypt Edge Labs offers a comprehensive hands-on learning experience designed to build practical expertise in securing cloud environments. Over eight weeks interns will complete guided projects covering the essential pillars of cloud infrastructure security across major platforms such as AWS Azure and Google Cloud
.
The curriculum introduces interns to cloud architecture fundamentals identity and access management (IAM) encryption network security monitoring and compliance
. Participants will gain experience identifying and remediating cloud misconfigurations implementing least privilege policies and deploying secure infrastructure using automation tools.
By the end of the program interns will be equipped with real-world job-ready skills to design monitor and protect cloud-based systems preparing them for entry-level roles in Cloud Security Engineering or Cloud Compliance and Governance

Learn and apply cloud security principles and best practices across AWS Azure and GCP.
Set up and secure cloud environments virtual networks and IAM policies.
Identify and remediate common cloud misconfigurations and vulnerabilities.
Implement encryption for data in transit and at rest using native cloud tools.
Configure monitoring logging and alerting solutions (e.g. AWS Cloud Trail Azure Monitor).
Conduct security assessments and generate clear actionable security reports.
Explore automation of security controls using Terraform Ansible or Python scripts.
Complete a final hands-on cloud security project simulating a real-world cloud defense scenario.

Educational and Learning Background:
A degree in Computer Science Information Security Cloud Computing or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
Demonstrated self-learning through certifications online projects or cloud labs.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud through personal or academic experience.
Foundational Knowledge:
Understanding of cloud computing concepts virtualization containers and shared responsibility models.
Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP DNS VPNs) and security basics (encryption IAM firewalls).
Awareness of compliance frameworks and best practices (e.g. CIS Benchmarks NIST ISO 27001).
Certifications (Desirable):
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900).
CompTIA Cloud or Security.

Willingness to work in cloud-based virtual environments and follow security best practices.

Hands-on experience configuring cloud resources or securing small-scale projects.
Interest in cloud-native technologies like containers Kubernetes and serverless security.
Experience:
