About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and proactive Cybersecurity Specialist to join their innovative technology team, initially supporting operations in Durban but with a flexible remote working arrangement. This role is focused on protecting systems and networks from cyber threats through proactive monitoring, threat analysis, and the implementation of security controls. You will be a key player in investigating security incidents, developing response strategies, and enhancing the overall security posture of the organization.

• Implement and manage cybersecurity tools and technologies to detect and prevent threats.
• Conduct threat intelligence gathering and analysis to anticipate and respond to emerging risks.
• Investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents, providing detailed analysis and remediation plans.
• Develop and maintain documentation for security procedures and protocols.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into system design and operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity or information security role.
• Strong understanding of network security, endpoint security , and cloud security principles.
• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
