Our client is looking for an experienced and analytical Lead Sports Data Analyst to join their innovative team, working remotely. This critical role involves leveraging vast datasets to provide actionable insights that drive performance improvements for athletes and teams. You will be responsible for developing sophisticated analytical models, interpreting complex data, and communicating findings effectively to coaches, management, and athletes. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong quantitative background, a deep understanding of sports dynamics, and a passion for using data to gain a competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and refine advanced analytical models to track athlete performance, team strategy, and game outcomes.
  • Collect, clean, and process large volumes of sports data from various sources (e.g., performance metrics, video analysis, biometric data).
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, concise, and actionable insights for stakeholders, including coaches and athletes.
  • Design and create dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators and trends.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to integrate data insights into training programs and tactical planning.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of the data analytics function within the organization.
Requirements
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, with a significant portion focused on sports analytics.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation libraries.
  • Strong knowledge of database management and SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex information to non-technical audiences.
