About the Role
Our client is seeking a data-driven Aviation Operations Analyst to join their team in Durban. This hybrid role involves analyzing operational data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and support strategic decision-making within the aviation sector. You will work closely with various departments, including operations, scheduling, and finance, to provide actionable insights that enhance performance and optimize resource allocation. This position offers a blend of office-based collaboration and remote flexibility, perfect for an individual who enjoys dissecting complex data and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to flight operations, aircraft utilization, and network performance.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within the airline's operations.
- Support the flight scheduling and network planning teams with data-driven recommendations.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address specific operational challenges and support strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to improve data quality and reporting capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience in data analysis, with a strong understanding of aviation operations metrics.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or R.
- Experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills, able to present complex data findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
