Information Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives from a remote-based position. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive information security program designed to protect the organization's assets. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats and best practices, and the ability to manage a remote team effectively.

You will drive the security strategy, ensure compliance, and foster a security-aware culture across the entire organization, ensuring robust protection of sensitive data and systems.

• Develop and execute the organization's information security strategy, policies, and procedures.
• Lead and mentor the information security team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Oversee incident response planning and execution, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security breaches.
• Manage security awareness training programs for all employees.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., POPIA, GDPR).
• Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability management, and penetration testing activities.
• Manage relationships with third-party security vendors and service providers.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field;
  Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise-wide security programs.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks, risk management, incident response, and threat intelligence.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable.
