About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Remote Network Infrastructure Technician to join their global operations, supporting clients remotely with their network installation and maintenance needs. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of complex network infrastructures. You will remotely monitor network health, diagnose connectivity issues, perform configuration updates, and provide technical guidance to on-site teams when necessary.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience with network hardware, protocols, and troubleshooting, coupled with excellent communication skills for remote collaboration. This is a fully remote position offering significant autonomy within the Installation & Maintenance domain.
- Remotely monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems, including routing, switching, and firewall issues.
- Perform configuration changes and updates on network devices via remote access tools.
- Collaborate with on-site technicians and clients to guide them through installation and troubleshooting procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and support activities.
- Stay updated on emerging network technologies and security best practices.
- Proven experience as a Network Technician or Network Administrator, with a focus on infrastructure and installation.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), switching, and firewalls.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools and remote management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applicable to complex network environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote interaction.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA or equivalent experience are highly desirable for this Stellenbosch
