About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and technically adept Remote IT Support Specialist to join their growing team, supporting operations remotely across South Africa, with a focus on clients in the Eastern Cape region. This role is pivotal in providing essential technical assistance and maintaining the IT infrastructure for our diverse client base. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring minimal disruption to their operations.
The ideal candidate thrives in a remote work environment, is an excellent communicator, and is passionate about delivering timely and effective IT solutions.
- Provide remote technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and chat.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently, escalating complex issues to senior technicians or relevant departments.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Assist with user account management, including creation, modification, and deletion.
- Develop and maintain IT documentation, including user guides and troubleshooting procedures.
- Contribute to proactive maintenance and system improvement initiatives for remote clients.
- Proven experience in IT support or a similar technical role, with a strong emphasis on remote assistance.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving common hardware, software, and network problems.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS) and common business applications.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively in a remote work setting.
