The business is continuing to invest in its Data, Analytics and AI function and is embracing modern technologies including Databricks, AWS, Delta Lake and Python/PySpark. As an AI Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work at the intersection of data engineering, analytics and artificial intelligence, helping the organisation develop scalable data foundations and deliver AI-driven insights that support business decision-making and innovation.
This is a predominantly remote position within Northern Ireland, with an initial three-day induction at the company's office. Following induction, office attendance will generally be required around once per month.

Candidates must permanently reside in Northern Ireland and have unrestricted right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. About you You will be an experienced AI Engineer, Data Engineer or similar technical professional with a strong understanding of data platforms and modern analytics technologies.
You will have:
At least 2 years' experience in a similar AI Engineer, Data Engineer or related role Experience working with Python, PySpark and/or Databricks notebooks Strong knowledge of Delta Lake, data warehousing and big data concepts An understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes and scalable data architecture Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience managing and prioritising multiple tasks A collaborative approach with strong team-working skills Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities The ability to work independently and effectively within a remote environment It would be advantageous if you also have experience with AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, AWS Glue, APIs and integrations, retail environments or Scrum methodologies.
A third-level qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Data, AI or a related discipline would also be desirable. What you'll do As an AI Engineer, you will play a key role in developing the data foundations and technical capabilities required to support the organisation's AI and analytics strategy. Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and implementing efficient ETL processes using Databricks and AWS Glue Developing scalable data pipelines to support AI and analytics use cases Automating data ingestion from cloud, on-premise, API and streaming sources Developing scalable data architectures aligned with business requirements Building and maintaining data models for BI, analytics and AI applications Working with Delta Lake to provide scalable and reliable data storage Maintaining Databricks notebooks, jobs and workflows Supporting the development and implementation of AI and machine learning solutions Preparing and transforming data for advanced analytics and AI initiatives Ensuring data integrity, security and compliance across AI and analytics environments Optimising Spark jobs and Databricks workflows for performance Monitoring performance and proactively resolving technical bottlenecks Supporting the scalability of data platforms as AI and data demand increases Working closely with technical and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements Sharing knowledge and contributing to the continued development of the wider Data, Analytics and AI team This is an exciting opportunity for an AI Engineer looking to work with modern cloud, data and AI technologies while making a tangible impact within a major Northern Ireland organisation.
