We’re looking for an experienced Network Sales Engineer / Solutions Architect to join a leading technology organisation supporting its growing UK Public Sector business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong enterprise networking knowledge with technical presales experience and an understanding of UK Government and Public Sector environments.

The Role

You’ll act as the technical expert throughout the sales cycle, working closely with sales teams and customers to understand requirements, solve technical challenges and design effective solutions.

Customers span Central Government, healthcare, education, local government and the wider Public Sector.

Key responsibilities include:

* Lead technical discovery and understand customer requirements and challenges.

* Design, present and demonstrate networking solutions, including Proofs of Concept.

* Troubleshoot network, infrastructure and application performance issues.

* Translate complex technical capabilities into clear commercial and business value.

* Support RFP/RFI responses and engage with senior technical and C-suite stakeholders.

* Work closely with systems integrators, service providers, product and engineering teams.

* Feed customer requirements into product development and identify opportunities within existing accounts.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll need a strong combination of networking expertise, technical presales experience and Public Sector knowledge.

* Proven experience as a Network Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect or in a similar technical presales role.

* Experience supporting or selling technical solutions into UK Government or Public Sector organisations.

* Strong enterprise networking knowledge, including Cisco routing/switching, TCP/IP, SNMP, Net Flow, VoIP, LAN/WAN and MPLS.

* Experience with network performance monitoring, packet analysis, troubleshooting, security and infrastructure design.

* Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, cloud and virtualisation environments.

* Experience leading technical discovery sessions, demonstrations and PoCs.

* Confident communicating with senior technical stakeholders and C-suite audiences.

* Able to translate technical solutions into clear business outcomes.

* Comfortable travelling regularly to customer sites across the UK.

SC Clearance is highly desirable, although strong candidates who are eligible and willing to undergo SC vetting may also be considered.

Nice to Have

Additional experience with CCNA, CCNP or CCIE certifications, Wireshark or Zeek, network visibility and performance monitoring platforms, security analytics, NIST or ISO 27001 would be beneficial.

Previous SC Clearance, security audit experience, RFP/RFI work, technical white paper writing or experience influencing product strategy and roadmaps would also be advantageous.

A Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree, equivalent technical training, or formal sales/presales methodology training would be welcomed.

Working Pattern

This is a home-based role, but it involves regular customer-facing travel rather than being fully desk-based.

You could be visiting customer sites around 3–4 days per week, alongside occasional company conferences and sales engineering events.

Candidates should therefore be comfortable with frequent UK travel and ideally have good access to major transport links.
