About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and meticulous Database Administrator (DBA) to oversee their database infrastructure in Mahikeng . This role is vital for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of all company databases. You will be responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, backup, and recovery operations, as well as performance tuning and monitoring. This hybrid position allows for a balance of in-office presence and remote work, offering a great opportunity for a DBA who is passionate about data management and wants to contribute to a stable and growing enterprise.

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database servers (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency.
• Implement and manage robust database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
• Ensure the security and integrity of databases through access control, encryption, and regular audits.
• Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including patching and data archiving.
• Collaborate with development teams to assist with database design and query optimization.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator .
• Strong proficiency with SQL and experience managing relational database systems (e.g., MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
• Knowledge of database security best practices and data backup/recovery strategies.
• Familiarity with performance monitoring and tuning tools.
