About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Telecoms Systems Administrator for a fully remote position. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and operational integrity of our diverse telecommunications systems and platforms. You will ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of our internal and external communication infrastructure, playing a vital part in keeping our services running smoothly.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented IT professional with a strong background in telecommunications systems to make a significant impact from a remote location. You will work independently, but collaborate closely with IT support and engineering teams to resolve issues and implement system enhancements.
- Administer, configure, and maintain telecommunications systems, including VoIP platforms, PBX systems, and contact center software.
- Monitor system health, performance, and security, implementing proactive measures to prevent downtime and security breaches.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to voice and data communication systems, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls for all telecom-related applications.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure optimal functionality and security.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in telecom systems administration or network support.
- Hands-on experience with VoIP technologies, PBX systems (e.g., Asterisk, FreePBX), and SIP protocols.
- Familiarity with cloud-based communication platforms and services.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills for remote collaboration.
