Telecom Network Operations Specialist

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Telecom Network Operations Specialist to join their team in Richards Bay . This critical role focuses on the day-to-day monitoring, management, and troubleshooting of our client's telecommunications network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and service quality. Working in a hybrid capacity, you will be a key player in maintaining the stability of vital communication services for a broad customer base.

The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to resolving network issues efficiently, contributing to a reliable network operation center (NOC) environment.

• Monitor network traffic, performance metrics, and system health using advanced network management tools.
• Respond promptly to network alerts and incidents, performing initial diagnostics and implementing corrective actions to restore service.
• Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers or relevant support teams with detailed problem descriptions.
• Perform routine network health checks, system backups, and software updates on network devices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, operational procedures, and incident reports.
• Participate in shift work to provide 24/7 network monitoring and support as required.

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in network operations, IT support, or a similar technical role within the telecoms industry.
• Familiarity with network monitoring software and ticketing systems.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks during network outages or critical events.
