About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Remote Telecoms Network Administrator to manage and maintain their network infrastructure from anywhere in the country. This position is a fully remote opportunity, ideal for a professional who thrives in a self-directed environment and is passionate about ensuring the seamless operation of telecommunications systems. You will be responsible for monitoring network health, resolving technical issues, and implementing upgrades to support business continuity and growth.
This role offers the flexibility to work from home while contributing to critical network operations for our client.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security using provided tools, identifying and resolving any anomalies.
- Administer and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
- Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery planning, and testing to ensure data integrity.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, hardware/software problems, and user-reported issues efficiently.
- Implement network security best practices, including patching, vulnerability management, and access control.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps, keeping records up-to-date for remote access .
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in network administration, preferably within a telecoms environment.
- Proficiency with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, HP).
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network security principles.
- Experience with network monitoring software (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Solar Winds).
- Excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and self-discipline for remote work .
