About the Role

Our client is seeking an adept Telecoms Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their core telecommunications systems from their operational hub in Centurion. This vital role ensures the smooth functioning, security, and optimal performance of all voice, data, and signaling platforms. You will be at the forefront of managing network infrastructure, resolving complex technical challenges, and implementing system upgrades to support business growth and innovation within the Gauteng region.

• Administer, monitor, and maintain telecommunications systems, including PBX, VoIP, and mobile network infrastructure.
• Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery planning, and implement security measures to protect network assets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues related to telecommunications systems efficiently.
• Manage user accounts, configurations, and permissions across various communication platforms.
• Install, upgrade, and patch operating systems and application software on servers and network devices.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and junior IT staff on telecommunications matters.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in telecommunications systems administration.
• Strong knowledge of VoIP technologies (SIP, H.323), IP networking, and common telecom protocols.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and server administration (Windows/Linux).
• Familiarity with cloud-based communication platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom Phone) is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
