SAP Finance Asset Retirement Obligations; FI-ARO) Consultant

Our Toronto based client is seeking an experienced SAP Finance Asset Retirement Obligations (FI-ARO) Consultant for only 3 to 5 days, with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have extensive SAP FI-ARO experience, including full-cycle project implementations. This will be a fully remote work setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end implementation and configuration of the SAP Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) module within S/4
  
  HANA environments, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
• Design and manage ARO valuation parameters, including inflation rates, interest rate keys, cost estimations, and settlement value calculations to ensure accurate financial provisioning.
• Integrate ARO seamlessly with Asset Accounting (FI-AA) and the General Ledger to automate postings for provisions, accruals, periodic depreciation, and asset retirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Controlling (CO), Project Systems (PS), and Lease Accounting, to ensure end-to-end process consistency and data integrity.
• Conduct client workshops to gather business requirements, map processes, and provide subject-matter expertise on compliance standards such as IFRS and US GAAP.
• Develop functional specifications for custom developments, perform system testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solution quality and stability.
• Provide post-go-live support, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer to end-users, including training on SAP Fiori apps related to ARO management.
