Data Governance Executive

Salary: £28,000 - 68,000 per year

• A strong understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, metadata, lineage and ownership.
• Experience working with data in an operational, analytical or data-focused role.
• Excellent attention to detail and a passion for improving data accuracy and quality.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain data concepts clearly.
• Confidence collaborating across business and technical teams to drive positive outcomes.
• Experience with data governance, data quality or metadata management tools, such as Microsoft Purview, is desirable.
• Familiarity with data models, data flow diagrams and governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK is desirable.
• An interest in promoting data literacy and embedding best practice across an organisation.
• A proactive mindset with a desire to continuously improve processes and ways of working.

• Supporting the implementation and ongoing operation of our Data Governance framework.
• Maintaining governance documentation, including data definitions, standards and quality rules.
• Supporting the rollout and adoption of data governance tools and platforms.
• Monitoring data quality and assisting with issue investigation, root cause analysis and remediation activities.
  
  Managing and maintaining metadata, business glossaries and data dictionaries.
• Collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to promote governance best practice.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance data quality and governance processes.

We are looking for a Data Governance Executive to join our growing Data Management team and support the development of strong, effective data governance practices across the organisation.

This role offers hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, flexible hours, and flexibility around school pick up and drop offs. The role can be based in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Marlow or Newcastle.
