Cyber Security Analyst

Our client is seeking a vigilant and analytical Cyber Security Analyst to join their dynamic team in Midrand

You will monitor security systems, investigate potential breaches, and develop proactive measures to safeguard sensitive data and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software, for suspicious activity.
• Investigate and analyze security alerts, incidents, and potential breaches, recommending and implementing appropriate responses.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and mitigate system weaknesses.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance on security best practices to internal stakeholders and users.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a cyber security role, with a strong understanding of network protocols and security principles.
• Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly desirable.
