Senior Bioinformatician - Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatician to join their innovative, fully remote drug discovery team. This role is central to leveraging large-scale biological data to identify and validate novel therapeutic targets and guide drug development strategies. You will work closely with computational biologists, chemists, and other data scientists to analyze diverse datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and clinical data.

• Develop and implement advanced bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of high-throughput biological data.
• Analyze large-scale omics datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics) to identify novel drug targets and biomarkers.
• Collaborate with experimental teams to design studies and interpret results in the context of drug discovery.
• Develop and maintain databases and data management systems for biological information.
• Visualize complex biological data to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in bioinformatics, machine learning, and their applications in drug discovery.

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry or academic experience in bioinformatics, with a focus on drug discovery.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R and experience with bioinformatics libraries and tools.
• Strong experience with various omics data types and analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.
