Cybersecurity Threat Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for an astute Cybersecurity Threat Analyst to join their team, remotely supporting operations based out of Rustenburg . This role focuses on proactive threat hunting, intelligence gathering, and analysis to identify and neutralize potential security risks before they impact the organization. You will be at the forefront of understanding the evolving threat landscape, providing critical insights to the security operations center (SOC) and incident response teams.

This position is ideal for a curious and analytical mind dedicated to staying ahead of cyber adversaries.

• Monitor and analyze threat intelligence feeds, security alerts, and log data to identify emerging threats and attack patterns.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting exercises to uncover hidden compromises within the network.
• Develop and refine detection rules and signatures for security monitoring tools.
• Produce regular reports on threat trends, vulnerabilities, and the effectiveness of security controls.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to provide context and support during security investigations.

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in threat intelligence , security operations, or incident analysis.
• Proficiency in analyzing security logs, network traffic, and malware samples.
• Understanding of malware analysis techniques and attack methodologies.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
