About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Telecom Network Operations Specialist to join their team, working remotely. This role is critical for the ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and optimisation of the company's extensive telecommunications network. You will be responsible for ensuring network uptime, performance, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain seamless service delivery. Key Responsibilities- Monitor network performance and infrastructure health using sophisticated network management tools.
- Respond to network alerts and incidents, performing diagnostics and implementing timely resolutions.
- Manage and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring optimal configuration.
- Implement network changes and upgrades following established change management processes.
- Collaborate with engineering and support teams to troubleshoot complex network problems.
- Develop and maintain operational runbooks and documentation for network procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in network operations or a similar role within the telecommunications industry.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and network architectures.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds, PRTG) and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills, crucial for effective remote collaboration .
