Senior Cloud Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an expert Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join their fully remote team, operating out of the Polokwane region conceptually, but serving a global client base. This role is critical for safeguarding their cloud infrastructure and data against evolving threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing advanced security solutions across cloud platforms, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of their digital assets.

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls and architectures for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud operations.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.
• Respond to security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and implement remediation measures.
• Automate security tasks and workflows using scripting and CI/CD principles.
• Provide security guidance and training to development and operations teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP) are highly valued.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on cloud security.
• Deep understanding of cloud security best practices, IAM, network security, and data protection.
• Proficiency with security tools for monitoring, detection, and response (SIEM, SOAR, EDR).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and security automation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
