Head of product design

Hybrid role based in Toronto, with 2 days per week in the office. Remote work for the remaining days.

We're seeking a design leader with experience leading product design at a software start-up or working in design at a leading fintech company. As Head of Product Design, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our user experience, creating intuitive interfaces, and ensuring our platform meets the needs of farmers and agricultural professionals. This position reports directly to the CEO.

• Lead end-to-end product design, including ideation, wire framing, high-fidelity prototyping, and iterative testing to deliver intuitive, accessible, and scalable interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO, engineering, and sales team to define product requirements, integrate user feedback, and align design efforts with feature roadmaps and launch timelines.
• Maintain, and evolve a comprehensive design system, including UI kits, pattern libraries, and accessibility guidelines, to ensure consistency across our mobile app, web platform, and future products.
• Present design concepts, strategies, and outcomes to stakeholders and executive leadership, advocating for user-centered approaches and demonstrating impact through metrics like user satisfaction and engagement.
• Manage design budgets, vendor partnerships, and resource allocation, prioritizing high-impact initiatives while scaling the team as the company grows.

• Proven experience leading product design at a software startup, with at least 2 years in a leadership role driving user-centered design in a fast-paced environment, including a strong portfolio of successful UX/UI projects for web and mobile applications.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, along with experience in user research methods like interviews and surveys
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a history of mentoring teams, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and presenting to senior stakeholders.
• Familiarity with fintech or agriculture is preferred but not required.
