About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Remote Network Infrastructure Specialist to join their fully remote team, supporting operations from Durban. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our client's robust network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. You will work with a global team of IT professionals, tackling complex network challenges and contributing to the overall stability and security of our digital assets.

- Design, deploy, and manage local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive solutions to ensure optimal uptime and speed.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues remotely, providing timely resolution to ensure business continuity.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including access controls, intrusion detection, and encryption protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration and infrastructure management.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and other routing and switching protocols.
- Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
- Proficiency in network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent remote troubleshooting skills and experience with network monitoring tools.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent experience are highly desirable.
