About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly proficient VoIP Specialist to join their fully remote technical team. This role is crucial for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of our Voice over IP communication systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our VoIP infrastructure, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving improvements to enhance the user experience. Key Responsibilities- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level VoIP systems, including PBX, call managers, and gateways.
- Monitor VoIP network performance, identify and resolve quality issues (e.g., jitter, latency, packet loss).
- Configure and maintain user accounts, extensions, and call routing rules within the VoIP platform.
- Implement and manage security measures for the VoIP infrastructure to protect against unauthorized access and threats.
- Provide advanced technical support for VoIP-related incidents and user queries.
- Stay abreast of emerging VoIP technologies and best practices to recommend and implement system enhancements.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a VoIP Specialist or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols such as SIP, H.323, and RTP.
- Experience with major VoIP platforms (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, Asterisk).
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls) as they relate to VoIP.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex VoIP issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
