Senior Penetration Tester

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Penetration Tester to join their cybersecurity team in Stellenbosch. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth security assessments of our client's applications, networks, and infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and provide actionable recommendations for remediation. You will play a critical role in proactively strengthening the organization's defenses against sophisticated cyber threats.

• Plan, execute, and report on comprehensive penetration tests, including network, web application, and mobile application assessments.
• Identify and exploit vulnerabilities in target systems using a variety of manual techniques and automated tools.
• Develop detailed and accurate reports outlining findings, risk assessments, and remediation recommendations.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to guide the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Stay current with the latest exploitation techniques, attack vectors, and emerging security threats.
• Mentor junior penetration testers and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies and tools.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; relevant certifications like OSCP, CEH, GPEN are highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Proficiency in using a wide range of penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Kali Linux).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, web application security, and common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical findings to diverse audiences.
• Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for developing custom testing tools is a plus.
