About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Cloud Security Architect for a fully remote position, supporting their operations in the Stellenbosch region. This role is paramount in designing, implementing, and managing secure cloud environments across various platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). You will be responsible for establishing security best practices, ensuring compliance, and architecting resilient security solutions that protect cloud-based assets and data from sophisticated threats.

• Design, implement, and manage comprehensive security architectures for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices for cloud deployments.
• Implement and manage cloud-native security controls, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, and data encryption.
• Conduct security reviews of cloud solutions and provide guidance on secure design principles.
• Lead the response to cloud security incidents, ensuring swift containment and remediation.
• Collaborate with Dev Ops and engineering teams to integrate security throughout the CI/CD pipeline.
• Stay abreast of emerging cloud security threats and technologies, recommending proactive measures.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field;
  Master's preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in information security, with a significant focus on cloud security architecture.
• Deep expertise in securing major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including their respective security services.
• Proven experience with cloud security best practices, compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS benchmarks), and automation tools.
• Strong understanding of networking, cryptography, identity management, and application security in a cloud context.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts.
