About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Sports Data Analyst to join their remote team. You will play a crucial role in leveraging data to provide actionable insights that enhance performance, strategy, and fan engagement within the Leisure & Sports domain. This position requires a deep understanding of sports analytics, advanced statistical techniques, and proficiency in data visualization tools.
You will collaborate with various departments, including performance, marketing, and operations, to drive data-informed decision-making and contribute to the competitive edge of the organization. - Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from various sports-related sources, including performance metrics, fan engagement, and market data.
- Develop and maintain advanced statistical models and algorithms to predict performance, identify trends, and uncover hidden insights.
- Create compelling data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to provide data-driven insights that support player development and tactical strategies.
- Work with marketing and business teams to analyze campaign effectiveness and understand audience behavior.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in sports analytics, data science, and relevant technologies.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of data analysis best practices within the team.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Sports Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analysis, with a significant focus on sports analytics or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with SQL for database querying.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and experimental design.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and creating impactful reports.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of various sports and their associated performance metrics is essential.
