BCIT’s School of Business + Media is seeking an instructor to teach in the UI/UX Associate Certificate Program at the Royal Roads University – John Horgan Campus in Langford, BC. Courses will be delivered face-to-face and include GDES 2150 Introductory UI/UX and MDIA 2330 UI/UX Prototyping Tools.
Duties & Responsibilities The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, student-centred educator with strong practical experience in user interface and user experience design, including user research, prototyping, and usability testing. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates a commitment to teaching excellence, inclusivity, and innovation in a rapidly evolving design industry. The ideal candidate values collaboration, contributes positively to a team environment, and is dedicated to supporting student success.
The successful applicant can expect to deliver UI/UX curriculum, provide constructive feedback, and maintain alignment with program learning outcomes while fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
Minimum five (5) years of relevant industry experience in UI/UX design, interaction design, or a related field, with demonstrated proficiency in user research, prototyping, and usability testing.
Demonstrated teaching experience at the post-secondary level or a clear commitment to developing teaching skills, including willingness to take courses in BCIT’s Associate Certificate in Polytechnic Teaching if not already…
