Information Security Manager; Gauteng

Our client is seeking a seasoned and forward-thinking Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives from a remote capacity, serving their operations across Gauteng and beyond. This leadership role is responsible for defining, implementing, and managing the organization's comprehensive information security program. You will be instrumental in protecting sensitive data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of security awareness throughout the company, regardless of geographical location.

• Develop and execute a robust information security strategy aligned with business objectives and risk appetite.
• Lead and mentor a distributed team of security professionals, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security controls, policies, and procedures across all IT infrastructure and systems.
• Manage security operations, including incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and risk assessments .
• Ensure adherence to relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards (e.g., POPIA, ISO 27001).
• Manage security vendors, technology procurements, and the overall security budget effectively.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in information security , with a minimum of 4 years in a management or leadership role.
• Deep understanding of security frameworks, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), network security, and data privacy regulations.
• Proven experience in leading security transformation initiatives and managing security operations effectively.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills for managing a remote team.
