About the Role
Our client is seeking a results-oriented Remote Senior Project Manager to lead critical IT infrastructure projects from initiation to closure. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa , while collaborating closely with distributed teams. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of IT infrastructure domains and excels in managing complex, geographically dispersed initiatives in a virtual environment.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource requirements, and budgets for IT infrastructure initiatives.
- Manage project execution, including tracking project milestones and activities, and proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among distributed project team members, vendors, and stakeholders using various remote tools.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and prepare comprehensive reports on project progress, risks, and budget.
- Ensure adherence to ITIL best practices and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Over 7 years of experience managing complex IT infrastructure projects , including network, server, cloud, and data center initiatives.
- Proven experience delivering projects in a fully remote setting , demonstrating strong virtual collaboration and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project).
- Excellent understanding of IT infrastructure components, including hardware, software, networking, and security.
