This positions is a senior engineer accountable for the design, reliability, modernization, and continuous improvement of complex enterprise network and telephony services. Leads cross-functional engineering initiatives, develops scalable patterns, resolves complex connectivity and communication issues, and advances campus, branch, data center, cloud, WAN, wireless, voice, unified communications, carrier, and automation capabilities. Mentors engineers and partners across technology, business, and vendor teams to deliver secure, resilient, and high‑performing services across the organization.
Atypical day:
- Leads design and delivery of complex routing, switching, wireless, WAN, cloud connectivity, network services, telephony, unified communications, and carrier solutions across multiple locations and technology domains.
- Develops reusable engineering patterns for segmentation, resiliency, quality of service, secure access, call routing, observability, automation, configuration management, and lifecycle management.
- Leads platform upgrades, migrations, carrier transitions, circuit modernization, network refreshes, technology evaluations, consolidations, and retirement initiatives while balancing near‑term needs with target‑state direction.
- Leads resolution of high‑impact network, wireless, voice, call‑quality, carrier, and performance incidents; performs deep technical analysis and drives systemic corrective actions across service dependencies.
- Defines and improves service health measures, capacity baselines, telemetry, alerting, testing, failover validation, disaster‑recovery readiness, and production‑readiness practices for critical connectivity and communication services.
- Leads engineering reviews; mentors engineers; strengthens documentation and standards; and influences platform roadmaps, investment priorities, carrier and vendor decisions, service improvements, and lifecycle plans.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, cybersecurity, telecommunications, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
