About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Information Security Specialist to join their remote-based security team, supporting operations related to East London. This role is integral to the protection of the company’s digital assets and sensitive data, involving the implementation and management of security measures to defend against cyber threats. You will work collaboratively with distributed teams to ensure compliance, monitor security systems, and respond effectively to security incidents.

• Implement, configure, and maintain security tools and technologies, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
• Monitor security alerts, logs, and network traffic for suspicious activities and potential security threats.
• Assist in the investigation and response to security incidents, documenting findings and remediation steps.
• Support the development and enforcement of information security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular security awareness training and provide guidance to employees on best practices.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and assist in tracking remediation efforts.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in information security, with a focus on security operations and analysis.
• Proficiency in security tools such as SIEM, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and firewalls.
• Solid understanding of network security principles, common attack vectors, and defensive measures.
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective communication abilities.
