Job SummaryThe Professional Services Consultant (PSC) – Cortex XSIAM is a high‑impact technical and consultative role responsible for delivering end‑to‑end Security Operations Center (SOC) modernization across both SIEM and SOAR capabilities. In this role, you will guide enterprise customers through seamless log migration, design robust threat detection strategies, and engineer advanced security automation playbooks within the Cortex XSIAM platform. By combining deep expertise in SIEM log ingestion, detection engineering, and Python‑based automation, you will empower customers to optimize their incident response capabilities and elevate their overall security posture.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute step‑by‑step strategies for onboarding, ingesting, and parsing log sources into Cortex XSIAM.
- Build and fine‑tune correlation and detection rules to identify emerging threats across endpoint, network, and cloud environments.
- Monitor and tune log source performance, ingestion rates, and detection logic to enhance system efficiency.
- Analyze manual SOC processes and transform them into automated, scalable workflows using XSIAM automation playbooks.
- Write custom Python integrations to connect Cortex XSIAM with third‑party security tools and RESTful APIs.
- Deploy and manage content packs, custom layouts, and automated dashboards tailored to customer security use cases.
- Serve as a trusted SME on Cortex XSIAM, SIEM log architecture, correlation logic, and SOAR automation best practices.
- Partner with security stakeholders to define security metrics and strategic automation roadmaps.
- Conduct technical workshops and produce technical design documentation to enable long‑term customer autonomy.
- 6+ years of hands‑on experience deploying, integrating, and managing enterprise SIEM solutions like Splunk, IBM QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel.
- 4+ years of direct experience with SOC tooling, incident response life cycles, and security analysis across cloud, endpoint, and network layers.
- Proven experience building playbooks, configuring correlation rules, and managing content and integrations within the Cortex ecosystem.
- Proficiency in Python for security tool integration and automation scripting, combined with strong Regex capabilities for log parsing.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs, JSON data structures, and third‑party security integrations.
- Exceptional written and verbal presentation skills, with a track record of authoring clear technical design documentation.
