Network and Systems Administrator

Our client is seeking a skilled Network and Systems Administrator to manage their IT infrastructure in Sandton , operating on a hybrid model. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of our company's computer systems and networks. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software, as well as providing technical support to employees.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of network protocols, server administration, cybersecurity best practices, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a dynamic business environment.

• Administer and maintain servers (Windows/Linux), ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
• Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures, including antivirus, intrusion detection, and data backup solutions.
• Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations.
• Develop and maintain IT documentation, policies, and procedures.

• Proven experience as a Network and Systems Administrator or similar IT role.
• Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Proficiency in network configuration, troubleshooting, and security (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, or equivalent practical experience are required.
