Data Scientist - Oil & Gas Analytics

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and innovative Data Scientist to join their fully remote team, focusing on advanced analytics within the Oil & Gas sector. You will leverage large datasets from exploration, production, and operations to uncover insights, build predictive models, and drive data-informed decision-making. This role is critical in optimizing operational efficiency, improving reservoir performance, and identifying new opportunities.

• Develop and implement machine learning models for applications such as production forecasting, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance.
• Analyze large, complex datasets related to seismic data, well logs, production volumes, and operational parameters.
• Design and conduct data experiments to test hypotheses and validate model performance.
• Collaborate with domain experts to define business problems and translate them into data science solutions.
• Communicate findings and insights effectively through visualizations and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist , with significant experience in the Oil & Gas industry .
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R, and expertise in ML libraries (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and SQL databases.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, essential for success in a remote, collaborative environment.
