Remote Senior Systems Administrator - Telecoms
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Systems Administrator to join their infrastructure team in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations that span across various regions, including Nelspruit
. This role is critical for maintaining the health, performance, and security of our server infrastructure and related systems that underpin our telecommunications services. You will be responsible for server deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of Linux/Windows systems and virtualization technologies.
- Administer, maintain, and enhance our server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
- Implement and manage system backups, disaster recovery plans, and security protocols.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimisations for telecom systems
. - Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Power Shell).
- Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for complex system issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in systems administration
, with a focus on Linux and Windows environments. - Proficiency in scripting, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud technologies.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and telecom infrastructure
