Position: Senior SharePoint / Microsoft 365 Modernization Consultant (Secret Clearance, CGP) to support an enterprise migration
Our valued defense client is seeking an Intermediate SharePoint / Microsoft Modernization Consultant
to support an accelerated Microsoft transformation initiative involving SharePoint Online migration, legacy SharePoint administration, and ongoing Microsoft operational support.
This engagement will play a critical role in helping the organization complete an ambitious modernization program on an accelerated timeline. The successful consultant will contribute across SharePoint Online migrations, administration of multiple legacy SharePoint environments, Microsoft operational support, automation, and governance initiatives while helping reduce risk during a large-scale enterprise migration. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable supporting production environments, executing migrations, troubleshooting complex SharePoint issues, and working with business stakeholders throughout modernization efforts.
Part-time and full-time contract options available - % Remote in EST timezone. The successful candidate must hold an active Government of Canada Secret clearance and must be eligible for controlled goods clearance.
Responsibilities
Support enterprise migration of legacy SharePoint environments into SharePoint OnlineBuild, configure, and administer SharePoint Online sites and related Microsoft collaboration servicesProvide operational support and troubleshooting across SharePoint Online and legacy SharePoint environmentsAssess existing SharePoint sites and develop migration and decommissioning plansValidate migrated content, permissions, and user acceptance activitiesAssist with SharePoint governance, permissions management, and operational best practicesDevelop Power Shell automation to improve administration, migration, and operational efficiencySupport Microsoft Purview initiatives including information governance, sensitivity labels, and data classificationContribute to One Drive governance and Microsoft collaboration standardsCollaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to prioritize migration activities and modernization effortsDocument solutions, configurations, and operational proceduresMust Haves
5+ years of SharePoint administration and engineering experienceDemonstrated experience migrating enterprise environments to SharePoint OnlineExperience supporting legacy SharePoint environments including SharePoint , , and/or SharePoint Subscription EditionExperience with SharePoint farm administration, search configuration, and environment troubleshootingStrong understanding of SharePoint permissions, governance, and information architectureExperience developing Power Shell automation for SharePoint and Microsoft administrationExperience working with Microsoft collaboration technologiesNice to Have
Microsoft Purview implementation experience including DLP, sensitivity labels, and information protectionExperience with One Drive governance and administrationExperience using Share Gate or other enterprise migration toolsMicrosoft administration experience including Teams, Exchange Online, and Entra Experience with backup and recovery solutions for Microsoft workloadsPrevious experience supporting large enterprise or government environments
