The Information Security Specialist 2 role with the Enterprise Information Security Office offers an exciting chance to support important cybersecurity protections across the Commonwealth. DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This position supports enterprise cybersecurity tools that protect systems and data across the Commonwealth. The role focuses on monitoring risks, improving security operations, and working with teams to maintain strong security controls. As an Information Security Specialist 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Security Analysis:
Evaluate security alerts, reports, and indicators to identify threats and vulnerabilities - Platform Support:
Administer and maintain cybersecurity tools and vulnerability management systems - Issue Resolution:
Troubleshoot security technology problems and coordinate with engineers or vendors to resolve issues - System Integration:
Assist with onboarding systems and applications into enterprise security platforms - Vulnerability Review:
Analyze scan results, track remediation actions, and prepare reports on security findings - Team Coordination:
Work with agencies and technical teams to investigate issues and maintain effective security controls

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- One year as an Information Security Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience performing technical work in information technology security, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
- One year of experience performing technical work in information technology security, and a bachelor’s degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- This particular position also requires two or more years of full-time professional experience onboarding and integrating enterprise systems with security platforms.
- This particular position also requires two or more years of full-time professional experience developing security dashboards, metrics, and operational reports.
