MBL Technologies is seeking an experienced Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Analyst to support federal privacy compliance, risk management, and oversight activities.
The PIA Analyst will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining Privacy Impact Assessments, identifying privacy risks associated with federal information systems, and supporting compliance with applicable federal privacy laws, regulations, and policies.
The ideal candidate will have hands‑on PIA experience, a strong understanding of federal privacy requirements, and the ability to collaborate with technical, legal, and program stakeholders to assess privacy risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
This is a part‑time, fully remote position
, averaging approximately 25 hours per week, typically spread across 3 days, with some flexibility based on project needs.
- Lead the development, review, and maintenance of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for federal information systems and programs.
- Assess privacy risks associated with the collection, use, and sharing of sensitive information and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Support compliance with the Privacy Act of 1974, E-Government Act of 2002, OMB guidance, and applicable federal privacy requirements.
- Develop and update privacy policies, procedures, and supporting documentation to address evolving regulations and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate privacy implications associated with new technologies, digital platforms, and information‑sharing practices.
- Collaborate with technical, legal, and program stakeholders to incorporate privacy‑by‑design principles into systems and business processes.
- Assist in developing privacy awareness materials, training resources, and compliance guidance.
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from an accredited college or university.
- 3+ years of relevant federal privacy experience, including developing, reviewing, and maintaining Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
- Working knowledge of federal privacy laws and regulations, including the Privacy Act of 1974, E‑Government Act of 2002, and applicable OMB guidance.
- Experience identifying, assessing, and recommending mitigation strategies for privacy risks involving personally identifiable information (PII).
- Understanding of federal information security requirements, data collection, information sharing, and privacy compliance principles.
- Strong analytical, technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
