Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting operations from anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure. This role involves automating deployments, ensuring security best practices, and optimizing cloud resource performance. Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and management.
- Monitor cloud environments, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
- Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained across all cloud resources.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on AWS or Azure.
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
- Extensive experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and monitoring tools.
- Experience scripting with languages like Python or Bash.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
