About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join their remote operations team, supporting projects across various South African mining sites. This role will focus on collecting, cleaning, and analyzing operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. You will work closely with site managers and engineers to provide actionable insights that drive operational excellence and strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate is proficient in data analysis tools and possesses a strong understanding of mining processes, enabling them to translate complex data into clear, concise reports for stakeholders.
- Collect, clean, and organize data from various mining operations sources.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in operational data.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with operations teams to understand data needs and provide analytical support.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements based on data analysis.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all reporting and analysis activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- 2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the mining or industrial sector.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python (Pandas, Num Py), R, or similar.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
