Remote Network Support Engineer

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Remote Network Support Engineer to join their fully remote IT infrastructure team. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity, security, and performance of our client's global network. You will be responsible for monitoring network operations, troubleshooting connectivity issues, implementing network upgrades, and ensuring high availability for all users. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software, coupled with exceptional problem-solving abilities and a strong aptitude for remote collaboration.

This role allows you to work from anywhere, contributing significantly to our client's digital backbone.

• Monitor network performance, availability, and security using advanced network management tools.
• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including routing, switching, firewall, and VPN problems.
• Implement and maintain network infrastructure changes, upgrades, and patches.
• Provide remote technical support and guidance to internal teams and end-users.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configuration standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or administration, with a strong focus on support.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, and network security principles.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills, essential for a remote role based out of Soweto or similar locations.
