Remote Systems Administrator

Our client is seeking a seasoned Remote Systems Administrator to oversee and manage their IT infrastructure, supporting users and operations across South Africa, including those based in Polokwane . This role demands a proactive approach to system maintenance, security, and performance optimization, all executed within a remote work setting. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of servers, operating systems, and related software.

• Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and related applications.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure uptime.
• Implement and maintain system security measures, including patch management, antivirus, and backup solutions.
• Provide remote technical support for system-related issues, diagnosing and resolving problems efficiently.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator , with a significant portion of work performed remotely.
• In-depth knowledge of server hardware, operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Experience with directory services (Active Directory), network services (DNS, DHCP), and scripting (e.g., Power Shell, Bash).
• Strong understanding of IT security best practices and disaster recovery principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
