Senior Cloud Security Architect

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Security Architect to join their innovative team, operating remotely across South Africa . This is a pivotal role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security architectures for our client's cloud infrastructure and services. You will play a key part in protecting sensitive data and systems against evolving cyber threats.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud security best practices, threat modeling, and secure application development principles, driving security excellence in a remote-first environment.

• Design and implement comprehensive security solutions for cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the cloud environment.
• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management activities.
• Implement and manage security controls for identity and access management, data encryption, and network security.
• Lead threat modeling exercises and incident response planning for cloud-based systems.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field;
  Master's preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years focused on cloud security .
• Proven experience designing and implementing security architectures on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, and vulnerability scanners.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts clearly in a remote setting.
